Hi y'all! It's been a hot minute, hasn't it?
The last 2 years have been a whirlwind. If you don't follow me on Instagram @theocd_catholic, that is where I've been sharing more consistently, so I recommend heading over there for more frequent updates.
So what's been happening?
I don't know how to accurately summarize the last few years. Work and school have kept me busy. This blog is not my day job, so it has had to take a backseat to things that pay me, unfortunately. Additionally, some big life updates happened and then un-happened, so that has kept me busy as well. If you read my post about OCD and Romance, you'd know that I had a boyfriend. Key word, had. We proceeded to get engaged around Labor Day of 2021 and then called off our engagement on Easter Sunday of 2022. So that was a thing that happened, and that took up a LOT of my emotions, as well as time and energy. I talked about this on Instagram as well, so another reason to follow me over there.
Ending the engagement and the subsequent recovery has been... a lot. It was the right thing to do, and I'm in a much better place with it all now, but that doesn't take away from the struggle it was at the time. Please know that my sufferings during that dark Easter season were offered for you all as well as for a friend of mine who is coming up on his 1 year anniversary of priestly ordination. Please pray for Father D.
In the aftermath of the breakup, I also became involved with the young adults group at my parish and joined the leadership team there. I help lead a weekly Bible study, as well as assist in facilitating other events, and so that has also taken up a good chunk of my time in the last little bit.
